This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
It seems like the best way to get a lot of attention on DA is to either by being incredibly stupendous or to stink out loud. I see people with art that looks like it was done by five year olds and they have tens of thousands of page views. Fan art that with tags that get a lot of search results only go so far when it comes to bad art. No matter how much people like the characters you draw, they shouldn't keep coming back if the quality of the work is low. I also think color carries too much weight. It seems like most of the high traffic art is all in color. I dig a color image as much as the next genetically altered dingo but I get so much inspiration from sketches, black and white images, and general pencil work. That and the color stuff that I've put up still didn't attract all that much focus. I guess what I want is to see a good couple pages of lovely comments from people I don't even know when I submit new artwork(the time is coming soon for the mass unloading of my 2008-2009 sketchbook). I want my pageviews to get into the 5th and 6th digit. I want a swarm of favorites, comments, and watchers. And so shall I have it. Obviously the quality of my work will be reflected in these numbers I want to see increase(or it would if DA wasn't set up on a server located in the bizarro realm where crappy artists get a lot of attention) and I can't hope to be obscenely popular untill the work reflects a skill that has been polished over numerous hours and pages upon pages in my sketchbook. So pay attention and watch me get thousands of new fans. Sometime soon I will be the inspiration, and you the inspired.
You honor me I have a few left from the days of old I haven't uploaded and then I'll get the huge load from the current sketchbook and actually scan them. Then there will be plenty of new deviations. Thanks for taking an interest in my work, it means a lot.
Hey congrats! Sort of... yeah that's pretty whacky. Glad to have you on though I'll be watching your stuff. It's funny you say that though cuz a little while ago I was getting ready to leave. But then I remembered that it's a really convenient way to share art. Anyway looking foreword to your stuff.
Really?! I love lady trolls! I'm on my way to take a look right now. It's ok that she's not naked, you have to first tempt your viewers before giving them what they want.
Haha I'm not sure that's gonna happen. However! I would find it interesting to do a new version of bus girl. Something that looks a little better with more legible writing on the t-shirt... and perhaps more freckles...
